The Markem-Imaje SmartDate X45 is a high-performance thermal transfer overprinter (TTO) designed for printing variable information directly onto flexible packaging films.
With 300 dpi printing resolution and speeds of up to 600 mm/s, the X45 provides clear and consistent coding for production dates, expiry dates, batch numbers, barcodes and other variable information.
The printer supports both intermittent and continuous printing configurations, making it suitable for VFFS machines, flow wrapping machines and other flexible packaging lines.
With a user-friendly 10.1-inch touchscreen, automatic printhead setup and ribbon-saving functions, the SmartDate X45 helps manufacturers maintain efficient and reliable coding operations.
The SmartDate X45’s print speed can be set from 30 mm to 600 mm per second, allowing for 220 printed packs per minute at 300 dpi. Our thermal transfer overprinter (TTO) can be adapted to your production line, offering intermittent or continuous configurations and a choice of printheads and ribbon rolls. In addition to its dead-dot detection system, the optional SmartDate® Detect-Plus system can check and confirm the presence, position and quality of the code on every produced pack, preventing costly recalls and protecting your brand integrity.
